We leave
Saskatoon around 9h30 am after having breakfast with Amélie, Colin and Victor. The
boys are a bit sad to see us leave. We had quite a bit of fun together! It is
overcast and today we will be sleeping in the Interprovincial Park of Cypress
Hills. We head south - west and stop at Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park.
The rain is coming but we have time to view the exhibit at the visitor centre
and take some pictures. That centre is an old hotel where travellers would
stop. It is a very interesting valley where quite a bit of the Prairies
travellers would transit and it was probably a hunting and fishing place for
aboriginal people.
We continue
and stop for lunch in Swift Current. We also do a stop at Best Buy to take care
of intermittent problems with the wireless of my laptop… It has been raining at
time but the sky has been very interesting along with the scenery. As we get
closer to the park, it is clear that we will have more rain. The clerk at
registration shows us where the campsite is and add: ‘I will not go tell you
how to back up your trailer, I am not a camper’. Once we get there it is clear
what she meant. Claude has to back ‘down’ between trees and at a steep incline
and it is pouring down. We are at the lowest point of the campground! We do not
have rubber boots but can settle without too much trouble. Rain continues
during the evening and the night. Will we have to swim out of the trailer
tomorrow?
