Day 6 (August 18, 2016)
We leave relatively early as we want to sleep in Minnedosa, Manitoba. We will have a long day driving. We decided to wait and have breakfast while stopping in Kenora, just before reaching Manitoba. It is our anniversary today, 32 years! Time is flying by. We finally reach the McDo where we want to stop, it is busy, coffee break time for retirees. The parking is very packed and I get in the alley without realizing that the end of it is the drive through… Not a good idea when you are towing a trailer, even a small one! I would have to back up but I do not know how. Claude ends up having that nasty job, nice anniversary gift! We quickly become the attraction: a weird little trailer and an impossible parking situation. However, thanks to my talent at giving directions and Claude’s more impressive ones at backing up, the trailer and the car end well parked between cars. One of the spectator kept saying: but what a driver you have, not many people could do this! As we drive through Winnipeg, we stop to get gas and a mattress topper. This will help the princess and her pea! There are combines and swathers in the fields. The fields are very lush, it is clear that they had more rain than usual. On the radio, get an ear full of info and stories on the mosquitoes’ situation. We make it well to Minnedosa to a campsite on their wonderful lake.
